Vadstena is a city in Sweden in Östergötland county. Center of the commune of the same name. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern, 40 kilometers west of the capital city Lena Linköping and 10 kilometers south-west of the city of Motala. The population of the city is 6,000 people.
The main attraction of the city is the castle, built in 1545 by order of Gustav Vaz to protect against the expected invasion of the Danes.
