The urban area of Naka is famous for its museums and pachinko (slot machine) halls. The entertainment district of Sakae is also located here, where tourists are attracted by the "Sky Boat" Ferris wheel built into the building of the shopping center. To the north of Naka is Nagoya Castle, a partially restored 1612 shogun residence that houses artifacts from the Edo period. The population of the city is two million three hundred thousand people.
