Hangang is the most important river in South Korea. It is formed by the confluence of the Namkhangan River with its sources in the Taebaeksan Mountains and the Bukhangan River with sources in the Kumgangsan Mountains. It flows through Seoul, after which the Imjin River flows into it. The Hangang flows into Kanghwaman Bay in the northeast of the Yellow Sea. The lower reaches of the river is the border between the Republic of Korea and North Korea.
