About Live Cam "Mosque Eyup Sultan" in Istanbul

The Eyup Sultan Mosque is located in an area known as Eyup of the Turkish city of Istanbul, outside the city walls near the Golden Horn. The modern building dates back to the beginning of the 19th century, the complex has a mausoleum, where it rests, according to historians and religious fanatics Eyyup (Job) al-Ansari. This person is known as the standard bearer and friend of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The complex was decided to erect on this site in 1458. Construction was carried out by the Ottoman Turks, already after they conquered Constantinople. By the end of the 18th century the complex was in a destructive state, possibly as a result of a large earthquake, and in 1798 an order was issued from Sultan Selim III to destroy and rebuild the entire structure. Unlike minarets, this work was completed in 1800. The eastern minaret was rebuilt in the original style by Mahmud II in 1822. Look at this architectural work of art can be thanks to round the clock broadcast from a webcam aimed at the object.
