Webcams Olbia (Sardinia Island)
Olbia - a city in the island of Sardinia, the administrative center of the province of Olbia.
The history of the city of Olbia dates back to the Nuragic period, later on this territory was conquered in turn by the Phoenicians, Puns, Romans and Carthaginians.
Due to its favorable geographical location at the center of the intersection of the Mediterranean trade routes, Olbia was one of the most important and richest cities on the island, as is still evidenced by the ruins of Romanesque terms, aqueducts, necropolises and public buildings.
In the nineteenth century, the city became known as Terranova-Pausania, and only in 1939 did it again receive its old name Olbia.
