Eletsky chimes are a landmark of the city of Yelets, which in the recent past was a water tower for central settlements. The original brickwork gives the tower a unique look with typical motives of Old Russian architecture. In the mid-70s of the 20th century, the city authorities decided to equip the tower with clocks on four sides, as well as acoustic strikes, which gave the name to the new attraction.
