Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. The city is located on 14 islands that make up the vast archipelago of the Baltic Sea and connected by more than 50 bridges. The sights of Gamla Stan (Old Town), the streets of which are paved with brick and the buildings are painted in reddish-yellow, are the 13th century St. Nicholas Church, the Royal Palace and the Nobel Museum dedicated to the history of the Nobel Prize. Passenger ferries and excursion boats ply between the islands. The population of the city is 970,000 people.
