Oaxaca, also known as Oaxaca de Juares, is a city in Mexico, the capital of Oaxaca and the administrative center of the same name municipality. The population of the city is 260,000 people. The city is Oaxaca International Airport. Oaxaca is located in the Sierra Madre del Sur, in southern Mexico, approximately at an equal distance from the Pacific and Atlantic coasts. Located at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level. Near the town is the archaeological site of Monte Alban, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The list also includes the city center of Oaxaca itself.
