About webcam "Panorama of the island" in the city Ishigaki
Ishigaki also known as Ishigakijima, is a Japanese island to the west of Okinawa's Khonto and the second largest in the Yaeyama Island group. It is located in the city of Ishigaki in Okinawa Prefecture. The island is served by the airport "New Ishigaki", the largest airport in Yayamasa. Most and surrounding waters, including Omoto Mountain and Kabir Bay, are protected as part of the Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park. Ishigaki Island, like the rest of Okinawa, is subject to cultural influences of both Japan and Taiwan because of its location. Tsunami record height covered it in 1771. Later it was decided to expand the territory in such a way that there could accommodate five large patrol boats of the Japanese Coast Guard. JSDF also considers deploying nearby anti-ship missiles on the island. These reinforcements are mainly associated with the Japanese uninhabited Senkaku Islands, which are 170 km north of Ishigaki under the control of the mayor, who was granted civil authority over the territory, as the Senkaku Islands returned from the United States to Japanese government control in 1972. China and Taiwan challenged Japan's sovereignty over these islands with more intensity in 2012. The panorama of the island opens before you from the computer screen, if you activate the broadcast from the web camera installed there.
