Kobe is a city in the central part of Japan, washed by the waters Osaka Bay. It is famous for its marbled beef and picturesque mountains surrounding the harbor. The city is one of the oldest Japanese Shinto shrines Ikuta, dating from the III century. From the summit of Mount Rocco, where a funicular leads from Kobe, a breathtaking view of the port opens. Behind the mountain are the hot springs of the Arima resort. The population is one and a half million people.
