Saranda is a resort city of the Albanian Riviera in the south of the country. It hides in a horseshoe-shaped bay with calm waters and scenic views. On the one hand, the city is surrounded by the Ionian Sea, and on the other - olive groves. In the center of Saranda, the ruins of a synagogue of the 5th century are preserved, where later the Basilica of the first Christians with a floor mosaic was located. On the hill above the city stands the 16th century Lekursi fortress. The population of the city is almost forty thousand people.
