Quimper is a city in Brittany in the west of France, the center of the department of Finistère and Quimper County. It is traditionally the capital of the Cornouai region. Located in the west of Brittany at the confluence of the rivers Steyr, Ode and Same, with which its name is associated. According to legend, the city was founded by King Gradlon after the flooding of Ker-Isa. He grew up from a settlement that was built around a monastery founded by St. Korentin, one of the seven holy founders of Brittany. The population of the city is 65 000 people.
