Rupia is an ancient fortress on a 120-meter-high basalt rock in the western part of Rupia, 70 km north of Brasov on the ancient path towards Sighisoara in central Romania. As a result of excavations at the site of the fortress, the remains of settlements dating back to the Paleolithic and Early Neolithic were discovered.
